Lola E. Walters
Mrs. Lola E. Walters, age 84, passed away on July 30, 2010. She was a former resident of Atmore and a member of The First Baptist Church of Atmore for over 50 years.

She was preceded in death by, her husband Darwin Weber Walters; son-in-law William “Bill” Hayes and her parents and a brother.

Mrs. Walters is survived by her daughter Linda Hayes; one son Michael Walters; one granddaughter, Tonya (Robert) Hurst; one grandson, Scott (Tracey) Hayes; four great- grandchildren, Brittany and Heather Hurst, Dakota and Seth Hayes and her brother Herbert Phillips.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arnold  Hendrix, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Atmore, AL.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 5, 2010 from 10 a.m. until service time at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Carl “Woody” Allison
Rev. Carl “Woody” Allison, age 75 of Atmore, Ala. passed away Monday, August 2, 2010 in Mobile, Ala. He was pastor of West End Baptist Church for 45 years. He was born in Walnut Hill, Fla. to the late John Henry and Arelia Sikes Allison.

He was preceded in death by four Brothers, and two sisters.

Rev. Allison is survived by his wife of 58 years, Claire E. Allison of Atmore; one son, Randy Allison and wife, Charlene of Birmingham, Ala.; one daughter, Judy Cook and husband, Earl of Hattiesburg, Miss.; one sister, Margaret Millican of Artesia, New Mexico; two grandchildren, Sam Allison and wife, Paige and Kristi Allison all of Birmingham; one great-grandson, Noah Allison.

Funeral services will be held Thursday August, 5, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Odom officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Family will receive friends, Thursday August 5, 2010 from 12:30 p.m. until service time
at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home

W.D. Mothershed
Mr. W.D. Mothershed, age 66, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2010 at a Pensacola, Fla. hospital. He was a native of Freemanville, Ala., a former resident of LaGrange, Ga., and a resident of Atmore, Ala. He attended Westside Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Willene Hall, Ernestine Davis and Audene Sharpless, and a brother, Raymond Mothershed.

Mr. Mothershed is survived by a son, Daryl Mothershed of Atmore;. two daughters, Tina House of Atmore and Tammy Mothershed of Pensacola; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three brothers, W.F. Mothershed, the Rev. J. Gladyn Mothershed and Carl H. Mothershed, all of Atmore.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 5, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Mothershed Cemetery.
The family received friends Wednesday, August 4, 2010 between 6 and 8 p.m. at  Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Charles Grover Everette
Mr. Charles Grover Everette, age 79, of Atmore, Ala., died Friday, July 30, 2010 at his residence. He was retired, from Smith Tractor Co, as a parts salesman, born in Escambia County, Alabama to the late Jessie Earl and Georgia Mae Turberville Everette, Sr. He was a member of Brooks Memorial Baptist Church and a life time Deacon, also a U.S. Army Veteran.

He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Grover Everette.

Mr. Everette is survived by his wife, Carolyn Kizer Everette, two sons, Richard Lee Everette and Michael Scott Everette and wife, Wanda, one daughter, Carolyn Denean Barnett and husband Wayne all of Atmore; two brothers, Smith Everette and wife, Mable of Bay Minette, Ala. and Gordon Everette and wife, Jettie of Atmore; one sister, Alma Miles of Atmore; seven grandchildren, Kerri Leigh Wilson of Ft. Polk, La., Jessie Lee Everette of Ft. Braggs, N.C.; Niki Leigh Everette, Daryl Thomas Leto, Cody Scott Everette, Stephanie Marie Everette and Carson Leah Barnett all of Atmore; two great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Everette and Jayla Wilson both of Ft. Polk, La.

Funeral services will be held Monday August 2, 2010 at 10 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Hugh Long officiating. Interment will follow in Canoe Freewill Baptist Cemetery.

The family did receive friends Sunday evening August 01, 2010 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

James Grady “Jimbo” Johnson
Mr. James Grady “Jimbo” Johnson 49 of Atmore, Ala. died Thursday, July 29, 2010 in Mobile, Ala. He was a Market Manager, born in Pensacola, Fla., to Dudley V. and Betty Lou Lundford Johnson.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Beverly Ivey Johnson of Atmore; his father and mother, Dudley V. and Betty L. Johnson of Dothan, Ala.; three sons, Nicholas Turner Johnson, James Cody Johnson, Charles Ethan Johnson, all of Atmore. one daughter, Amber Nichole Johnson of Atmore; two brothers, Charles Harold “Hal” Johnson of Dothan, Pat Conn of Atmore; three grandchildren, Matteson Nychole Johnson, James Grayden Johnson, and McKenna Sue Johnson and many friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday August 1, 2010 at 2 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.W. Ivey officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Susan J. Mura
Mrs. Susan J. Mura, age 63 of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday July 27, 2010 at her residence.
She was a registered nurse, born in Centrailia, Illinois to the late Hewitt J. and Lucy Carpenter Cook..

Mrs. Mura is survived by her husband of 46 years, Joseph Mura, Jr. of Atmore; one son, Joseph Mura III and wife, Renae of Atmore; two daughters, Tammy Boon and husband John of LaGrange, Ky. and  Deborah Mura of Atmore;  seven grandchildren, Heather, Brittany, Russell, Alexandra, Brittany, Taylor and Landon; one great-grandchild, Brentli.

Funeral services were held Saturday July 31, 2010 at 10 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Oak Hill cemetery.

Active pallbearers were be the grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers were be Brentli and Landon.

Marie Wooten
Mrs. Marie Wooten, age 71 of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday July 29, 2010 at her residence. She was a Homemaker, born in McCullough, Ala. to the late Ed and Adar Langham Drew.

Mrs. Wooten is survived by her husband, Billy Wooten of Atmore; three sons: Drew Wooten and wife, Alicia of Pensacola, Fla., Robert Wooten and wife, Tina of Uriah, Ala. Ed Wooten and wife, Melissa of Atmore; three brothers, Edson Drew of Mobile, Ala. and Edward Drew of Tenn.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Saturday July 31, 2010 at 2 p.m. from Johnson –Quimby Funeral Home Chapel. Interment  followed in McCullough Cemetery.

The family received friends Friday evening, July 30, 2010 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 5  to 8 p.m.

Active Pallbearers will be Ashley Buck, Mark Lewis, Wayne Drew, Todd Booker, Eddie Booker, and Jamie Booker.

James S. Murray
Mr. James S. Murray, age 45, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Jay Hospital. He attend the Lakeview Day Program and also attended the Bridgeway Adult Education Program in Crestview, Fla.

Mr. Murray is survived by his father, James Wayne Murray of Sebring, Fla.; four brothers, Robert Murray, Aaron Amick, Heith Murray and Matthew Murray; three sisters, Tony Talley, Niclole Childress, Wendy Chavis and several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends Friday, July 30, 2010 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, Atmore, AL.

Glenn Rolin
Mr. Glenn Rolin, age 62, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at a Pensacola hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Century, Fl.

Mr. Rolin was preceded in death by his father, Grady Rolin of Century; one brother, Gilbert Rolin on Munson, Fla. and one sister, Gloria Carnley.

Mr. Rolin is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Ann Rolin; two sons, Matthew Rolin of Century, Fla. and Tracy Rolin of Flomaton, Ala.; one daughter, Tabitha Tedder of Century; one brother, Greg Rolin of Atmore; two sisters, Glenda Walston of Century and Marie Stuckey of Atmore, Ala.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Flora  Kelly Rolin of Century Care Center.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 30, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Wiggins officiating. Burial followed at Beulah Cemetery on Old Hwy. 31 in the McCall Community.

The family did receive visitors Thursday, July 29, 2010 between 6 and 9 p.m. at Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Matt Rolin, Tracy Rolin, Vince Walston, Tracy Tedder, Greg Rolin and Travis Tedder.

Stella Caroline Godwin
Mrs. Stella Caroline Godwin, age 92, of Oak Grove, Fla., died Tuesday July 27, 2010 at her residence. She was a nurse with the U.S. Navy Nursing Corp, born in Whippany Morris Co. New Jersey to the late Stanislaus  and Mary Smach Golba.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Godwin.

Mrs. Godwin is survived by her son, David Marshall Godwin of Pensacola, Fla.; two daughters, Susan L. Godwin of El Paso, Texas,  Ramona Godwin Cole of Ottawa, Canada; two grandchildren, Anne-Louise Cole and Colleen Cole.

Funeral services were held Friday July 30, 2010 at 10 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Tom Simard officiating. Interment  followed in Oak Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, Thursday, July 29, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers were all of her caregivers, special friends, Wilson and Ruthie Sims,  Roy “Buddy” and Marvette Godwin, Franklin “Shorty” Carnley and Bronna and Grant Godwin
