Lady Cougars win in OT

After falling behind at the half to Meadowview 23-20, the Escambia Academy rallied in the second half sending the game into overtime and winning at home by the score of 50-46. EA opened a 16-13 first quarter lead behind 8 points from Jordan Jaye and two points from KayLeigh Miller, Rachel Fuller and Carlie Broughton.

Meadowview’s defense held the Lady Cougars to just 4 second quarter points and 7 in the third.

But in the fourth, it was all about free throw shooting. The Lady Cougars went to the line 19 times in the fourth and hit 12 of them. At the end of regulation, the game was tied at 43-43.

Free throws also made the difference for the Lady Cougars in the overtime period when they hit 4 of 6. Grayson Emmons helpimg seal the win with a three point shot.

Meadowview managed just 3 points in the overtime period giving EA a 50-46 win.
