The current Youth Leadership Atmore Class came up with a unique fund-raiser – a Powder Puff Football Game.
The Escambia County High School YLA girls took on the Escambia Academy YLA girls Thursday, April 8, at ECHS.
It was a high-scoring game, but when the dust settled, the EA girls came out on top 72 to 66.
For ECHS, ChaNae Lyles’ lightning speed helped the team put points on the board. She rushed for 7 touchdowns and 5 two-point conversions. She also deflected one pass.
Also for ECHS:
Chelsea Gaffney – 1 touchdown
Morgan Nichols – 1 two-point conversion.
For EA, the stats were as follows:
Grayson Emmons – 5 rushing touchdowns, 2 passing touchdowns, an interception for a touchdown, and 1 two-point conversion.
Amber Huskey – 1 pass deflection, 1 touchdown.
Lacie Flowers – 1 touchdown, 3 two-point conversions.
Chelsey Ramer – 1 touchdown, 1 interception which turned out to be the game-saving play.
Taylor Helton – 1 two-point conversion.
Refs were Sheryl Vickery, Jason Barnett and William Casaday. Calling the plays from the press box were Hayden McGill and Justin Stabler.
Nick Smith cooked out hot dogs and hamburgers as part of the fund-raising effort.
