Lowndes takes doubleheader

Lowndes Academy won game one of a doubleheader with Escambia Academy. The final was 7-0.

Keaton Maher worked the mound for the Cougars pitching 5 innings. He struck out 13 batters while throwing 53 strikes. Chason Roley returned from injury to right field and went 2-3 batting. Clayton Dyess went 2-2 and an error and senior Jon Dean went 2-4 in game 1.

Lowndes also took game two 8-1. James Dean worked the mound for the Cougars pitching the entire game. Dean also scored EA’s only run of the game.

He struck out 5 batters and threw 43 strikes.
