Trinity to Host Pancake Supper Feb 16
Trinity Episcopal Church will celebrate Shrove Tuesday with their annual Pancake Supper on Tuesday, February 16. Open to the public, the supper will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in the parish hall adjacent to the church. Hot pancakes with syrup, sausage and juice will be served. The cost at the door will be $3 for adults and $1.50 for children 12 and under.
Shrove Tuesday is the last day before the period that Christians call Lent. The day represents both the final opportunity for celebration (Mardi Gras) and the last chance to repent before the hallowed and solemn days of Lent begin the following day, Ash Wednesday.
Trinity, which is currently without a full time priest, is happy to announce that Atmore native The Reverend Albert Kennington, who now lives in Fairhope, will officiate at its Ash Wednesday Holy Eucharist service to be held on February 17 at 5:30 p.m. Rev. Kennington will also serve during Trinity’s Holy Week Services at the 5:30 p.m. Holy Eucharist services on Maundy Thursday, April 1, and Good Friday, April 2.
