Atmore singer / songwriter Ricky Crook has just released his first solo CD, “Keepin’ it Country.”

“We spent four months in the studio getting it down,” Crook said. “It was completed in Coleman Productions in Navarre (Fla.).”

Crook describes the CD as a good mix of styles of country music from Vern Gosdin’s classic style to a more modern take on country.

Crook began to hone his skills as a teen learning the guitar. He played festivals, but always as a part of the band.

“I found my passion in songwriting,” Crook said.

The eight tracks on the CD are all written by Crook, with one track co-written by a friend. Early sales are going well according to Crook. He plans to promote the CD at local shows and venues. A launch party will soon be announced.
