Marjorie F. Campbell
Mrs. Marjorie F. Campbell, age 87, of Clarkesville, Ga., passed away Friday, February 29, 2013, at her residence. She was born in Atmore, Ala. to the late Thomas Jefferson and Thelma Myrtis Ward Forte. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she served as Senior Adult Sunday School Class teacher and was active in mission work throughout Romania. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Campbell, Jr.; a son, Jimmy Campbell, also an infant son; a sister, Dorothy Ann Forte Smith; two brothers, Thomas Espin Forte and Don Allen Forte.

Mrs. Campbell is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Claire Campbell of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Cyndy Campbell of Mt. Airy, Ga.; grandson, Thomas Allen Campbell, Jr. of Gainesville, Ga.; sister, Jerrye Forte Sumrall of Mobile, Ala.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services were held Saturday, March 9, 2013 11a.m. at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Don Campbell and Rev. Tommy Stowe officiating. Inurnment followed in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Clarkesville.

The family received friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a mission of your choice in memory of Marjorie F. Campbell.

Betty Annette Flowers Merrill Norris
Mrs. Betty Annette Flowers Merrill Norris, age 74, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Atmore to the late Gay and Grace Elizabeth White Flowers. She graduated at Escambia County High School as valedictorian. She attended Sacred Heart School of Nursing. After several years of living the Navy life and living in various places in the U.S. and overseas (including Hawaii and Japan), she returned to Atmore in 1972. She worked for many years as a nurse for Dr. C. P. St. Amant and later at the Atmore Health Department.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2nd husband Bobby Norris; brother, Charles Winston Flowers and sister, Joyce Flowers Nall.

Mrs. Norris is survived by her daughter; Vonna Merrill Read of Collierville, Tenn. and son; John Michael Merrill of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; sister, Evelyn McKinley Pipkin and husband Jim; brother, Clayton Flowers and wife, Janice all of Atmore; grandchildren Ethan Merrill Read, Jordan Lynn Merrill, Grace Marie Read and Carrie Marie Merrill.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 10 a.m. from the Atmore First Assembly of God with Rev. Don Davis officiating. Burial followed in Mothershed Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Chuck Flowers, Randy McKinley, Jimmy Flowers, Scotty Flowers, Corey Flowers, and Hunter McKinley

The family received friends Monday, March 4, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Clyde Vincent Barbarow
Mr. Clyde Vincent Barbarow, age 72, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in Perdido, Ala. He was a native of Bay Minette, Ala. and a resident of Perdido for most of his life. He was a very loving husband, brother; he was a good son and loved his Mother very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Maude Barbarow; one brother, Gene F. Barbarow and step-daughter, Tammy Carpenter.

Mr. Barbarow is survived by his wife, Nancy Barbarow of Perdido; two sons, David V. Barbarow and C. Daniel Barbarow both of Oregon; three step-sons, Malcolm (Cheryl) Harrelson of Perdido, Michael (Shauna) Harrelson of Bratt, Fla. and Robert (Betty) Flowers of Rabun, Ala.; two step-daughters, Debra Boatwright and Susan (Ronnie) Paul, all of Perdido; one brother, Wayne (Sheryl) Barbarow of Perdido and five sisters, Dorothy (Tommy) Abrams of Canoe, Ala., Patricia Novak of Tucson, Ariz., Shirley Albritton of Atmore, Ala., Helen Tillery of Perdido and Diane (Stan) Marshall of Huxford, Ala..

Funeral services were held Friday, March 8, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Malcolm Harrelson officiating.

The family received friends Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Phillip Richardson
Mr. Phillip Richardson, age 53, of Bay Minette, Ala., passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Mobile Infirmary.

Funeral services are incomplete at this time but will be announced later by Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC.

Will Stewart “Bill” Chapman, Jr.
Mr. Will Stewart “Bill” Chapman, Jr., age 84, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 in Atmore. He was a native of Birmingham, Ala. and grew up in Jackson, Ala. He was a graduate of Jackson High School and then in 1968 moved to Atmore. He was president and manager of Chapman Ace Hardware, Inc. for thirty years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, PCA. Atmore. He loved the outdoors and many sports, hunting, fishing, golfing and archery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Will Stewart and Mary Bird Chapman, Sr.; sister; Mary Chapman (John) Granade and his in-laws, Marilyn Noble (Roy) Jensen and brother-in-law; James Lowder.

Mr. Chapman is survived by his wife of sixty-four years Nancy Noble Chapman; children, Will C. (Janice) Chapman, Bess Chapman (Richard) Maxwell, Gretchen Chapman (Steve) Odham and Rebecca Chapman (James) Williamson; grandchildren, Will Stewart (Maya) Chapman, III., Mallory Maxwell (Brad) Downey, Chapman Richard (Katie) Maxwell, Hannah Stephens, Bess Tyler, Jamie Williamson (Jack) Hazelrig, Ann Williamson (Kory) Doyle; great-grandchildren Charlee Chapman, Mary Virginia Wood, Abigail Wood, Leslie Downey, Harrison Downey, Warner Maxwell, Douglas Maxwell and Caroline Doyle; sisters-in-law, Shirley Noble Lowder, Margie Noble Reid; brothers-in-law, Frank J. (Debby) Noble, Chet C. (Rebekah) Noble and Wesley M. (Charlene) Noble; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 2 p.m. from the First Presbyterian Church, PCA, Atmore, with Reverend Jim Thorpe officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Stewart Chapman, Chapman Maxwell, Brad Downey, Brett Wood, Jack Hazelrig and Kory Doyle.

Honorary pallbearers were I.G. Nichols, Jack Sharpless, Giles Chapman, Jimmy Cleiland, Jerry York, Robert Johnson, Steve Shirley, Bert Rice, Milton Adams, Gene West, Dennis Bilbo, Karl Robinson, Chuck Dettling, James Burkett and Carlton Sharpless.

The family received friends Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. from the First Presbyterian Church, PCA

Willie Mae Carter
Mrs. Willie Mae Carter, age 90, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 in Pensacola, Fla. She was born in Atmore, Ala. to the late Melissa English and Adam Rigsby. She was a long tenured and faithful member of Union Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Carter; one son, Archie L. Cox; four sisters, Minnie Johnson, Lillian McCants; A.D. Hale; Rita Rigsby and one brother, Adam Rigsby.

Mrs. Carter is survived by three children, Verchie L. Robinson and Matthew Cox, Jr., both of Tucson, Ariz., Doris Mason of Bay Minette, Ala.; grandson, Charles L.(Cheryl) Mason; granddaughter, Carolyn D. Sanders and one sister, Ruby Lee Andrews of Bay Minette.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Union Baptist Church with Rev. D. L. Boykin, Pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Mutual Aid Cemetery in Bay Minette.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, great-grandsons and great-great-grandsons.

Flower attendants were her granddaughters; great-granddaughter and great-great-granddaughters.

Billy Lassiter
Billy Lassiter, age 65, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 in Pensacola, Fla. He was retired Pipe Inspector. He was born in Evergreen, Ala. to the late Willie J. and Mazie Thompson Lassiter. He was a Veteran of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Faye Lassiter and one brother, Robert Holley.

Mr. Lassiter is survived by two sons, Shawn Lassiter (Hope) and Shannon Lassiter, all of Atmore; special sister-in-law, Judy Smith of Atmore; three brothers, Larry Lassiter, Michael Lassiter and Steve Thompson, all of Atmore;  two sisters, Sheila Dalton of Pittsburg, Penn. and Linda Griggers of Atmore;  four grandchildren,  Natalie Lassiter, Sydnie Lassiter, Ragan Lassiter and Paige Lassiter.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 10 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill cemetery with military honors.

Active pallbearers will be Brandon Carlton, Blake Lassiter, Dean Fournier, Randall Ward, Toby Quimby, Brandon Smith.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Jamie Hall will be held Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Johnson Quimby Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Johnson Quimby Funeral Home.
