Ester A. Campbell
Mrs. Ester A. Campbell, age 59, of Plain City, Ohio, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital ICU. She was born in Marysville, Ohio. She was passionate about telling people about her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chaucy and Gertie (Garver) Headings; sister, Katie Faeta; brother, Jerry Headings and brother-in-law, Richard Faeta.

Mrs. Campbell is survived by her husband, Pastor Walter A. Campbell, Jr.; children, Sherrie (Leonard) Hursh of Atmore, Ala., Janet (Bruce) Stutzman of Milford, Neb., Walter Allen (Emily) Campbell, III of Plain City; seven grandchildren, Dana, Courtney, Skyler, Brooklyn, Chelsea, Seth and Madison; sisters, Velma (Olen) Miller, Mary Lou (Ben) Miller, Martha (Sam) Beachy, Alice (Titus) Schlabach; brothers, Vernon (Viola) Headings, Fred (Mary) Headings, Norman Headings, Celmar (Verna) Headings; sister-in-law, Dorothy Headings; step-mother, Clara Headings.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Sharon Mennonite Church, 7675 Amity Pike, Plain City with Pastors Andrew Stoner and Gene Miller officiating. Burial followed in Forest Grove Cemetery, Plain City.

The family received friends Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main Street, Plain City.

Carol J. Hall
Mrs. Carol J. Hall, age 69, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013 in Mobile, Ala. She was a native of Uriah, Ala., former resident of Bay Minette, Ala. and has resided in Mobile for the past seven years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great- grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hall.

Mrs. Hall is survived by her two sons, Steve (Sandra) Harville of Rabun, Ala. and Johnny (Tina Mooney) Combs of Perdido, Ala.; two daughters, Rita Faye (William) Standifer of Century, Fla. and Ginger Marston of Mobile; one brother, Ronnie Freeman of Carrolton, Ga.; one sister, Shelia Lassitter of Uriah; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Mary Gibbs officiating. Burial followed at the Semirah Springs Cemetery.

The family received friends Friday, March 1, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were William Standifer, Von Banks, Steve Harville, Johnny Combs, Tony Lassitter and Colby Harville.

Roslyn Rainville
Mrs. Roslyn Rainville, age 67, a native of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 in Orange Park, Fla. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mossey Head, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kent Rainville; her parents, Herbert and Pauline Etheridge Byrd and a niece, Deidra Byrd.

Mrs. Rainville is survived by her daughter, Michelle Reigel of Orange Park; son, Michael Rainville of Mossey Head; sister, Becky (Alvin) Brown of Atmore; brothers, Ronnie (Diane) Byrd of Semmes, Ala. and Randy (Debbie) Byrd of Foley, Ala.; three grandsons, Richard Reigel, Brandon and Josh Rainville.

Memorial services were held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Atmore, Ala.

Lillian Marie Whittenburg
Mrs. Lillian Marie Whittenburg, age 75, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at United Hebrew Geriatric Center in New Rochelle, N.Y. She was born to the late Percy Herbert and Laler Ross Herbert in Garland, Ala. She was a 1955 graduate of Escambia County Training School where she excelled in academics and sports and graduated with honors. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church serving as church secretary. She had been employed wit the Department of Human Services in Washington, D.C. where she retired after twenty-seven years of dedicated and exceptional service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George, Walter, Hillary and Cleveland and sister Willie Mae.

Mrs. Whittenburg is survived by her children, Dereck (Jacqueline) Wanda and Reginald; grandchildren, Travis, Courtney, Juan and Tayah and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Alfonzia Williams, Pastor, Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Monroeville, Ala. officiating.

Jessie “Joe” Turner
Mr. Jessie “Joe” Turner, age 72, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 in Pensacola, Fla. He was a native of Century, Fla. and life long resident of Flomaton, Ala. He worked in the oil fields for forty years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Turner.

Mr. Turner is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Cheryl Turner of Flomaton, Ala.; one sister, Beulah Nisewonger of Century; three grandchildren, Hank (Meagan) Wesley Bonner, Joshua (Mandy) Turner and Kara Turner; five great-grandchildren, Zoe Bonner, Brodie Bonner, Rex Wayne Bonner, Ethan Jordon and Shane Turner.

The family received friends Monday, March 4, 2013 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Burial followed at the Flomaton Cemetery.

Glenn “Buddy” Hadley
Mr. Glenn “Buddy” Hadley, age 68, of Perdido, Ala., passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 in Mobile, Ala. He was retired from Standard Furniture Company. He was born in Lottie, Ala. to Doil and Sadie Hall Hadley. He was a member of the Lottie Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Doil Hadley.

Mr. Hadley is survived by his wife, Pearl Lore Eddins Hadley and mother, Sadie Hadley Johnson, both of Perdido; two brothers, Dallas Hadley of Perdido and Larry Hadley of Atmore, Ala. and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday March 5, 2013 at 2 p.m. from Atmore Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chris Pruitt and Rev. Henry Wilson officiating. Interment will followed in Brown’s Cemetery in Perdido.

The family received friends Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Atmore Memorial Chapel.

Willie Mae Carter
Ms. Willie Mae Carter, age 90, resident of Bay Minette, Ala., passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Baptist Hospital, Pensacola, Fla.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced later by Christian Memorial Funeral Home.

Rosie Marie Lawson
Mrs. Rosie Marie Benjamin-Lawson, age 45, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013. She was born in Little River, Ala. to Willie Mae Benjamin and the late James Benjamin. She was a 1988 graduate of Escambia County High School. She was a faithful member of Holy Community Center where she served as an Usher.

She was preceded in death by her father; grandmother, Louise McDonald and grandfather, William McDonald; father-in-law, Roosevelt Lawson Sr. and mother-in-law, Pinkie A. Lawson.

Mrs. Lawson is survived by her husband, Marvin Lawson; children, Marvin Jr. and Demarcus Lawson of Atmore; one step-son Maurice Patterson of Molino, Fla.; mo0ther Willie Mae Benjamin of Atmore; brother, James (Janie Mae) Benjamin of Crestview, Fla.; three sisters, Janie Mae Benjamin, Latonya Benjamin and Alfreda (Sedrick) Lowery of Century, Fla.; four nephews, Tyrell, Jamell, Mykell and Jameon Benjamin; two sisters-in-law, Paula Williams (Roman), Shawnett (Rev. Raphael) Montgomery of Baytown, Texas; four brothers-in-law, Roosevelt (Dorene) Lawson of Foley, Ala., Reginald (Kathy) Lawson of Atmore, Cardell (Bridgett) Lawson of East Brewton, Ala. and Gerald (Lindsey) Lawson of Daphne, Ala.; special cousin, Katrina Stallworth; four devoted friends, Johnna Salter, Regina Tolbert, Lena Richardson and Johnnie Mae Dickerson and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Holy Community Center with Apostle Jimmy Wilson, Pastor, officiating. Burial followed at Stallworth Cemetery.

Pallbearers and flower bearers were family and friends.

Montine Tennille Williams
Ms. Montine Tennille Williams, age 36, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013. She was born in Atmore, Ala. to Curtis Riley and Brenda Riley. She was a 1994 graduate of Escambia County High School.

Ms. Williams is survived by her father and mother, Theodis and Brenda Williams of Atmore; two daughters, Makeria and Aaliyah Williams of Atmore; son, LaDadrien of Atmore; grandparents, O.Z. and Ernestine Riley of Atmore; granddaughter, Khamyria Finklea of Atmore; two brothers, Ensign Stephen Williams of Corpus Christi, Texas and Willie Jenkins of Mobile, Al.; two sisters, Lasheka Williams of Atmore and McShea Allen of Century, Fla. and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Deliverance Ministry of Jesus Christ with Pastor Hattie Bishop, Overseer president and Bishop Bernard Bishop, officiating. Interment followed in Pierce Cemetery, Freemanvlle, Ala.

Pallbearers were her uncles.

Flower bearers were her classmates.

Matilda Millender Mark
Mrs. Matilda Millender Mark, age 85, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013. She was born in Mexia, Ala. to Will and Ruby Millender. She was a long time member and faithful servant at Harris St. A.O.H. Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ledford Mark; father and mother; eight sisters and six brothers; son Charles Thomas.

Mrs. Mark is survived by her sons, Montie Thomas of Las Angeles, Calif. and Lester (Stacey) Mark of Charlotte, N.C.; daughters, Ruby Thomas and Patricia Thomas, both of Atmore, Ala., Elois Blanchard of Mobile, Ala., Rose Mary Thomas of Century, Fla. and Hilda (Ellis) Rarell of Anchorage, Alaska; host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Christian Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Monroe Tucker, Jr., officiating. Interment followed at Lucious Cemetery.

Pallbearers were her grandsons.

Flower bearers were her granddaughters and friends.
