Joey Kelley
Mr. Joey Kelley or Atmore, Ala.  passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011 in McDavid, Fla.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced at a later date.

Anah Tiffany Allen
Mrs. Anah Tiffany Allen, age 66, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Monday, October 3, 2011 in a Mobile hospital after a brief illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Brewton and was a member of Catawba Springs Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Sheltex, and a homemaker.

Mrs. Allen is survived by two daughters, Carroll (Lou Cobb) Maness of Brewton and Kelly (Eric) Bryant of Fort Payne, Ala.; five grandchildren, Carrie Pierce, Crystal Pierce, Haley Bryant, Erica Bryant and Seth Bryant.

Graveside services were held Friday, October 7, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Union Cemetery with Bro. Jeff Edwards officiating.
The family received friends Friday, October 7, 2011 from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Richard Clint Cofield
Mr. Richard Clint Cofield, age 66, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011 at home in McDavid, Fla. He was a native and lifelong resident of Century, Fla. He was retired from the Escambia County Florida School Board after 31years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed sports. He attended the Holiness Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Mable Cofield; two brothers, Clarence Cofield and Frankie Bell and a granddaughter, Kimberly Gooden.

Mr. Cofield is survived by a son, Ricky and Tracey Cofield of McDavid; two daughters, Veronica and Dwayne Hacker of Mobile, Ala. and Marie and Steve Blanton of Pace, Fla.; five grandchildren, Joshua Blanton, Tanya Blanton and Marissa Blanton, all of Pace, Ricky Cofield and Kaley Jo Cofield, both of McDavid; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Marker of Pace; and three brothers, Harry Cofield of, Bruce Cofield of McDavid and Billy Cofield of Molino, Fla.

Funeral services were held Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobo Bell officiating. Burial followed at Happy Valley Cemetery.

The family  received friends Saturday, October 8, 2011 between 6 and 9 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Trenton Earl Brown

Mr. Trenton Earl Brown, age 23, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Saturday, September 30, 2011. He was born to Winston Montgomery and Toni Denis Brown. He was a 2005 graduate of Escambia County High School and attended Jefferson Davis community College. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruby Brown; grandfather, Eugene Finley; great-grandmother, Mattie Lou Hawkins; aunt Ruth Phillips and cousins Calvin Nichols and Mickey Dailey.

Mr. Brown is survived by his parents Toni Denis Brown and Winston Montgomery; brothers, Darrell Brown and Shaquille Brown, both of Atmore, Shawn Martin of Monroeville, Erica Crenshaw of Pensacola, Fla.; fiancé, Davisha Johnson of Atmore; grandparents, Jimmy and Cherrie Montgomery of Atmore; aunts, Martha Brown, Gloria Montgomery, Denise (Charles) Jackson, Sherril (James) Pettway, Dorothy (RC) Robinson, all of Atmore, Teresa (Ron) Talver of Washington, Debra (Calvin) Poole of Birmingham, Ala., Shelia (Rickey) Smith, Shirley (Bobby) Watson and Erica Finley, all of Atlanta, Ga.; uncles, Terry Brown, Gary Brown, Rickey Montgomery, Derrick (Sandra) Montgomery, all of Atmore,, Kenneth (Glenda) Brown of Houston, Texas, Larry (Cindy) Finley of Tenn., Michael (Sherita) Finley of Troy, Ala., Daryl (Shelia) Finley of Pensacola and Eric, Earl, Eugene Finley and Jerry Brown, all of Atlanta; godparents, Mikail and Schemenia Reynolds, Godmother, Mikhail Reynolds and God sister, Ashley Reynolds; two nephews, Carmelo T. Brown and ZyQuarious K. Washington; a host of cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Gillead Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Davis and Pastor Tony McAroy, officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Sinclair Brown, Tycarrio Brown, Davis Johnson, Jr., Cedrick Brown, Mikhail Reynolds and Terry Brown.
Flower bearers were family and friends.

Roy Edward Martin
Mr. Roy Edward Martin, age 59, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, September 29. He was born in Camden, Ala. to the late Ben Edward and Sylvia Martin. He was a 1970 graduate of Escambia county Training School. He was a deacon at Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church. He was a member of the Male Inspirational Choir.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben Edward and Sylvia Martin; grandparents, Mose Boykin and Matilda McMillan; sister, Martha Ann Martin; three brothers, Walter Lee Boykin, Andrew Johnson and Albert Lee Haynes, Sr.
Mr. Martin is survived by two brothers, Geno Donnell (Berlinda) Martin of Atmore and Willie Johnson of Jamaica, N.Y.; five sisters, Matilda (Terry) Kimbrough of Pensacola, Fla., Paralee Milton of Orlando, Fla., Alice Brown, Mary Ann (Samuel) Riley, all of Atmore and Cynthia Longmire of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister-in-law, Hattie Haynes; two very special girls, Tiffany Vaughn of Atmore and Crystal Vaughn of Detroit, Mich.; two special friends, Reginald and Rita Williams and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Hayes officiating. Interment followed in Stallworth Cemetery.

Pallbearers were his nephews.

Flower bearers were family and friends.

Mable Lee Hall Thompson
Mrs. Mable Lee (Ma Mable) Hall Thompson, age 78, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Southside Medical Center in Virginia. She was born in Monroe County, Ala. to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Hall. She was a member of Mt. Gillead Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Mt. Gillead Gospel Choir, served on the Deaconess Board and food committee. She was employed by the board of education and worked with the feeding program held at Mt. Gillead Recreation Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Roy Thompson; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Hall; stepmother, Ruby Mae Hall; granddaughter, Allison Crystal Rose Thompson; four brothers, John Lee Hall, Johnnie Hall, Jeff Hall Jr. and Herman Hall.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by four daughters, Charity Thompson-Packer (Erskine) of Va., Vivian B. (Wiley) Tait, Regina Williams, all of Atmore and Geraldine Jones; one son, Baragon Bradley of Atmore; six grandsons, Christopher R. Thompson, Michal F. Gray, Jr. of Va., Nicholas L. Thompson and Alfonzia Williams, Jr., both of Atmore, Barry Bradley, Jr. of Elm, N. J. and Janaegon Bradley of Englewood, N.J.; two granddaughters, Roslind Williams (Minister Mernard) Grant of Oklahoma and Elonne Bradley of S. C.; six sisters, Helen Dortch, Carrie Riley, both of Atmore, Mattie Hall, Linda Shiefield, Zulema Hall, all of Dayton, Ohio and Loree Ambrose of Birmingham, Ala.; three brothers, Larry Hall of Birmingham, Ala., Jeff C. Hall and Clarence Hall, both of Dayton, Ohio; sister0in0law, Mary J. (James) Oliver of Ellen Rivers, N. Y. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Gillead Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Davis, Pastor and Minister Mernard Grant officiating. Interment followed at Stallworth Cemetery.

Pallbearers and flower bearers were friends of the family.

Charles E. Riley
Mr. Charles E. Riley, age 69, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011. He was born in Mobile County, Ala. to the late Louis and L.D. Mims Riley. He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Evella Hall Riley; devoted God-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Rostchild; brothers, Walter Claborne, Ed and Clausell Riley step-brothers, Arndid Witherspoon

Mr. Riley is survived by wife of forty-four years and 11 months, Helen W. Riley; daughter, Tawanda (Antonio) Sims of Atmore; three sons, Theron Riley, McGregory Ladale Riley, both of Atmore and McGregory Neikos Riley of Montgomery, Ala.; nine grandchildren, Demondre Riley and TyQuil Brown of Hattiesburg, Miss., Tyneshia Sims, Tiffany Williams, Montez Riley, DeAndra Riley, Tyderian, all of Atmore, Theron Riley Jr. and Joyce Williams of Selma, Ala. and four great-great-grandchildren, Jadarian Bowens of Atmore, Kaden Montez, Demondra Pittman, Asia Pittman of Miss.; five sisters, Mary Brown of Mobile, Ala., Minnie (Leroy) Williams, Dorothy House, Claudia, all of Atmore, Yvonne (late Eddie) Lewis of Mobile; two brothers, A.P. Riley, O.Z. (Ernestine) Riley of Atmore; three step-brothers John (Phyllis) Hall, III, the  Frank (Emily) Witherspoon of Calvert, Ala.; two sisters-in-law, Ceola Hubert of Atmore and Armlee (Darnell) Melson of Phoenix City, Ala.; brother-in-law, Labon Williams; two God-sons, Veecher (Will) Thames and Gregory Thames of Atmore and one God-daughter, Linda Stallworth of Monroeville, Ala. and devoted friends, George Haley, Bishop W. C. Howard, Elder Alexander Packer and Elder Bruce Armstead and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church with Pastor Edgar McCarthy and Minister McKenzie Dailey, officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers were grandsons and nephews.

Flower bearers were granddaughters, nieces and friends.

Dorsey Crapps
Mrs. Dorsey Crapps, age 55, passed away Monday, October 10, 2011 in Pensacola, Fla.

She was a native of Flomaton, Ala. and a lifelong resident of Flomaton and Century, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Mildred Emmons.

Mrs. Crapps is survived by her husband of thirty-six years, Allen Crapps of Century; her daughter, Jessica Kate and Jarvis Slate of Woodstock, Ga.; a granddaughter, Alexandria Hope Slate; a brother, Kenny Emmons of Jackson, Ala. and a sister, Dorothy Bell of Flomaton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Wilbur Graves officiating. Burial will follow at McCurdy Cemetery.

The family received family Tuesday, October 11, 2011 between 6 and 9 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Justin Johnson, Thomas Bailey, Billy Joe Knowles, Daniel Lowery, Ervin Carnley, Jr. and Benny VanHoosen, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Emmons and Stevie Emmons.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to funeral services and medical bills.

Merle Wade Matthews
Mrs. Merle Wade Matthews, age 83, a native of Ochlochnee, Ga. and resident of Atmore, Ala. since 1957 passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011. She graduated Valedictorian of Ochlochnee High School. She graduated from Berry College in Rome, Ga. with multiple accolades. She served as home demonstration agent for the State of Georgia for several years. After moving to Atmore she taught fourth, fifth, and sixth graders over a span of three decades. Earlier this year, she established the Markle Scholarship in honor of another Berry alumnus, her neurologist, Dr. Scott Markle. She was actively involved in Kairos Minstries. She was an active, long time member of Trinity Episcopal Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Arthur and Nora Albritton Wade; brother, Wallace Wade; sisters, Cleo Hagan, Dora Hackney, Sadie Shuman, Dot Carter, Anne Edwards.

Mrs. Matthews is survived by her children, Dale (Alan) Ash of Atmore, Cindy (Rob) Colville of Spanish Fort, Ala. and son, Hooper W. (Diann) Matthews, III of Atmore; daughter in Christ, Lucille Hubert Matthews of Atmore; grandsons, Daniel Matthews Ash, Wade Alan Ash, Hooper Wade Matthews, William Robert Colville, Jr., Samuel Clay Colville; granddaughters, Kristen Diann Matthews and Madison Leigh Matthews; sisters, Doris Wade Gandy of Atmore and Lysbeth Wade Brown of Jacksonville, Fla.; nieces, nephews and special care givers, Michelle Robbins of Bay Minette, Ala. and Joyce Portis of Mobile, Ala.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 14 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Atmore with the Rev. John Phillips and Rev. Jim Thorpe officiating. Visitation and a reception luncheon immediately following the service with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery at 2. p.m.

Mr. Sam Tichi passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011.

Erik Ray Sheets
Mr. Erik Ray Sheets, age 45, of Monroeville, Ala., passed away Friday, October 7, 2011 in Mobile, Ala. He was a welder. He was born in Pensacola, Fla. to Earl Sheets and Martha Sheets.

Mr. Sheets is survived by his wife, Pamela Mills Sheets of Monroeville; four daughters, Ashley Sheets. Amber K. Kraszewski. Alisha Sheets all of Milford, Mich., Brooke Sheets of Bay Minette, Ala.; one grandchild, Maidson Kraszewski of Milford.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 2 p.m. from Bay Minette Cemetery, Bay Minette, Al. with Pastor William Paschal officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home
