Murder arrest made

An Atmore man has been arrested in Pensacola and charged with the murder of Christopher Payne Andrews of Atmore.

According to the Atmore Police Department, on Tuesday, August 30, at 1:30 a.m., the U.S. Marshall’s Service in Pensacola arrested Antonio Alberto Crenshaw, 29, for an arrest warrant for murder.

Crenshaw was apprehended at The Red Roof Inn located in the 7300 block of Plantation Road, Pensacola. Crenshaw is currently being held on charges as a fugitive from justice in Escambia County, Florida, and will be extradited to Escambia County, Alabama, on the murder warrant.

On Thursday, August 25, at 12:56 a.m., the Atmore Police Department received a 911 call to have police come to 195 Maxwell Street. The caller stated that a person had been shot. When officers arrived, they found Andrews, 23, lying on the ground beside his vehicle, with multiple gunshot wounds.

Paramedics with Atmore Ambulance arrived and pronounced Andrews dead at the

scene.
